Bob and I have been married for 50 years,
have five children, seven grandchildren and presently live in Brighton,
Colorado.
I became interested in art when I saw how
talented our children were and was encouraged by a neighbor. I tried to
get them to join the Brighton Palette and Brush Club to no avail, so I
did. I had enjoyed cake decorating for many years with many hours of
cleaning up frosting, and because of this, I thought watercolor would be less
messy than oil painting.
When we moved to Belleview, Washington, I
had lots of time on my hands, so I started taking all day workshops from local
artists, Catherine Gill and Michell Cooper. I especially enjoyed workshops
taught at the Puget Sound Art League in Bellevue.
After six years we returned to Brighton, and
I again joined the Brighton Palette and Brush Club with familiar and new faces,
some who were also members of the Paletteers. In the fall of 2000, I
joined the Paletteers Art Club and soon after was accepted as a juried
member. Since returning to Colorado, I have enjoyed workshops given by
local artists.
Pictures and memories of Washington and our
home state of Colorado inspire my paintings. I find expressing color a
delightful challenge!
