Photography taught me to look at the world around me.
Painting is teaching me to see - really see!

As I learn and experience more in my quest to express myself through art, I find that I am becoming acutely aware of colors, shapes, shadows, lines, relationships of objects, etc. and it is exciting.  The Supreme Spirit of our Universe has created beauty and wonders for our eyes to view and it is so humbling to try to catch this experience and joy on canvas.

Watching artists paint and visiting world famous art museums has always excited me and after being challenged to step out of my comfort zone and do something I had never done (but always wished in my heart I could do), I realized I wanted to be able to draw and paint and really get involved in the visual arts.  I was working toward a Visual Arts Degree when a car accident modified my plans.  Lately I have had the wonderful experience of learning from other artists through classes and workshops:

Lian Quan Zhen - Autumn Art Workshop, Nebraska
Tom Lynch - workshop, Colorado and Arizona
Terry Madden - workshop, Colorado
Barban/Bass - workshop, Estes Park, Colorado
Anne Martinez - workshop, Denver, Colorado
Frank Francese - workshop, Northglenn, Colorado
Jackie McFarland - classes, Park Hill, Colorado
Patricia Barr Clarke - classes, Park Hill, Colorado

The talented teachers and artists I have met and the wonderful friends I have made have opened my life to new and exciting experiences and a love of trying to capture the inexpressible.

What a difference "art" has made in my life.
