Edward Hansen

Edward Hansen is an artist from the Denver area with no formal art training. He is a realist artist, working mainly in oils. Ed began his art career in 2005 after retiring from the Denver Fire Department. His first works were naturally fire department, with prints of these pieces on sale at the "Denver Firefighters Museum". He has painted one of the murals at the museum.

His love of the Early West is his main driving force and he has been quoted as saying "Painting the West is my passion". Eds interest also includes landscapes and wildlife. Ed has won awards including Reserve Champion at the Glenwood Springs fall art festival. Other awards also include "The Adams County Fair" in Colorado" , "Art From The Heart" Westminster, Colorado, "National Greeley Art Exhibit", Greeley Colorado" and he has been juried in many show including the Colorado State Fair.

Ed has pieces in several private collections from Florida to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Montana.

He is the Vice President of the "Paletteers Art Club" in Westminster, Colorado. He is also a member of the "Glenwood Springs Art Guild" in Glennwood Springs, Colorado and the Director of the Art Exhibite at the Adams County Fair of Colorado.
